Time for a Resurrection

April 12, 2010 – 10:31 pm
How many times have you wanted something, but were “Not Ready” to receive it? By embracing the moment, we can open ourselves to the wisdom and glory in the present instead of encasing ourselves in a tomb. Today, like Easter, is a perfect day to resurrect ourselves by renewing our thoughts and opening our hearts. Easter symbolizes Jesus’ rise from the tomb. Whether you believe this really happened or not is neither here nor there. What is important is the metaphysical meaning behind Jesus’ resurrection. His rising demonstrates that we have the power to resurrect ourselves from the tomb of negativity by embracing a new way of thinking. We can do this at anytime. We don’t have to wait until Easter, or the New Year. Each time we rise, we can decide to do something new, to think a new thought. We don’t even have to wait until tomorrow. We ...

How to Put the Law of Attraction into Action

March 29, 2010 – 7:11 pm
Life is exhilarating these days. Not only has my book, 7 Secrets Every Woman Should Know: How to Create a Joy-Filled Life been published and selling very well, but I’m also in my fourth month of PREGNANCY! My hubby and I are thrilled as this will be the first grandchild on both sides of our families. As I sit in the guest bedroom writing this post, my eyes are frequently drawn to the two vision boards on the back of the room door. With the door closed, the collages are fully displayed. Among the magazine cut outs, I see a beautiful African-American couple. The woman is pregnant with one hand across her stomach with her husband by her side. Then my eyes are drawn to a picture of a woman with locks. Her mouth is agape with a wide smile from the joy she’s receiving from cuddling her baby. These are a few ...

Celebrities Get Positive Press

November 16, 2009 – 2:30 pm
[caption id="attachment_352" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Ms. Kimberly Haynes and Mr. Brian Jordan"][/caption]   Professional athletes and entertainers often make headlines for behaving badly, while their good works in the community hardly get noticed. Kimberly Haynes, founder and chief consultant of the OMBI Group, LLC is setting out to change that. On November 9, 2009 the OMBI Group celebrated its 5th year anniversary by presenting its Giving Gracefully Awards to Reggie Howard of the AAG Foundation, Inc., the Brian Jordan Foundation, Inc., the Hannibal Navies Foundation, Inc., and the DeShawn Snow Foundation. OMBI recognized these organizations for their outstanding commitment to the community and for their contributions to helping youth live safe, positive, and productive lives. Montblanc hosted the event, which was also sponsored by Red Bull, Jim Ellis Audi, Imperial Concierge and Lifestyle Management, Atlas Sports and Entertainment, Brumfield Limousines, SVB Group, and Prime Restaurant. Stop Doing This to Stay Sane

November 1, 2009 – 8:07 pm
Photo By LDCross   The month of November for me marks the beginning of the holiday season. And I can’t believe it’s already here. People are planning parties, buying presents, making gifts, taking family photos and are engaged in a host of other festive activities. As we usher in the holiday season and gear-up for the New Year, it is fitting that November, according to New Thought tradition, is the month of RENUNCIATION.   Month Faculty Disciple Part of the body January Faith Peter Center of brain February Strength Andrew Loins March Discrimination or Judgment James, son of Zebedee Pit of stomach April Love John Back of heart May Power Phillip Root of tongue June Imagination Bartholomew Between the eyes July Understanding Thomas Front of brain August Will Mathew Center front brain September Order James, son of Alphaeus Navel October Zeal Simon the Cananaean Back head, medulla November Renunciation or Elimination Thaddaeus Abdominal region December Life Conserver Judas Generative function   The word RENUNCIATION is derived from the word renounce, which means to relinquish or abandon. We have a tendency to add more, more, and more. How often do we assess what we can stop doing? I’ve been thinking about what I’d like to stop and ...
